Exeter’s Grandison is D1 Bound
Phillips Exeter Academy post-graduate Jacob Grandison accepted a full scholarship offer from Holy Cross College last week.
The commitment marked the culmination of a very eventful week for Grandison.
First, he helped Exeter capture their second NEPSAC Class A championship in the last four years and earned MVP honors with a 20 point performance in the finals win over Suffield. Just two days later, he was named third team All-New England in Class A.
A skilled 6-foot-6 forward from California, Grandison played with Team Lillard on the summer circuit and arrived in New England without any division I offers this fall.
He continued to ascend throughout the course of the season, picking up a division II offer in late January, and accumulating increasing division I interest along the way.
Holy Cross already held a commitment from another Exeter post-grad, Kyle Copeland, and so they were often in the gym to monitor his progress. That gave them a frontrow seat to witness Grandison's continued growth and so they offered a scholarship shortly after the season.
