Lubick, Morris, Katenda Selected for Adidas Nations

Three New England products have been selected to travel to Texas this week to take part in Adidas Nations Basketball Experience.
The Adidas Nations Basketball Experience is the culmination of the Adidas Nations program which brings together some of the top young (18 and under) players from around the world.
Over the course of the year the Adidas Nations program has conducted regional training here in the United States as well as in Africa, Asia, Canada, Europe, and Latin America.
This week the best players from all seven of those areas (two United States teams) come together in Dallas, Texas for six days of training and competition.
The week’s activities include intense training sessions, education and insight on the off court elements that are crucial to a basketball career, and ultimately a competitive tournament between the teams.
Each of the seven regional teams will consist of 12-15 players and will be coached by a former NBA coach and mentored by a current NBA player.
Nate Lubick and Jason Morris were both selected to play on the United States 2010 team where they will be joined by the likes of Jared Sullinger, Brandon Knight, Josh Smith, and Josh Hairston.
Eric Katenda, who starred last year for Cheshire Academy, will also be in action on Team Africa.
Other top players in the field include: Trey Zeigler, Justin Martin, Perry Jones, Tyler Lamb, and Adreian Payne (USA 2010); Tony Wroten Jr., Marquis Teague, Le Bryan Nash, and LaQuinton Ross (USA 2011); Tristan Thompson, Cory Joseph, and Myck Kabongo (Canada).
The U.S. 2010 team will be coached former New Jersey Nets assistant coach Ed Schilling and mentored by Jerryd Bayless of the Portland Trailblazers. Team Africa will be coached by 18 year NBA veteran Eddie Johnson and mentored by Serge Ibaka from the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Other members of the camp coaching staff include Detlef Schrempf, Eric Musselman, Frank Johnson, Reggie Theus, and Larry Krystkowiak. Other NBA mentors include Brook Lopez (New Jersey Nets), Eric Gordon (Los Angeles Clippers), Mike Conley (Memphis Grizzlies), Daequan Cook (Miami Heat), and Robin Lopez (Phoenix Suns).
