ESPN.com recently included Everett High School’s Nerlens Noel in their Terrific 25 list – ranking the top 25 players in the class of 2012.

On Monday ESPN published an updated set of rankings in both the class of 2011 and 2012.

The 2012 list is limited to only 25 players and one of those 25 is New England’s Nerlens Noel

Noel played his first season of high school basketball this year at Everett High School and has established himself on the national scene playing with the Boston Amateur Basketball Club (BABC) this spring.

While he may be still slender and fairly raw on the offensive end, his physical tools are off the charts, as are his defensive abilities, with practically amazing length and mobility for a player his size.

Noel, who was the only local product to make the list, is part of what is shaping up to be a truly special class of 2012 in New England as Alex Murphy, Andre Drummond, Egi Gjikondi, Domonique Bull, and Ricardo Ledo are all players that are already drawing interest from the highest levels.

The nation’s number one player in the class of 2012 according to ESPN is DeJuan Coleman, a 6’8” big man from Syracuse, New York.  Coleman starred at the Northeast Hoops Festival earlier in the year with his Syracuse Select AAU team and has since begun to play with the New England Playaz, who will be in action on July 13th at the Super 16 Showcase to be held at Quinnipiac University.
