St. Mark’s Erik Murphy was one of 24 players from around the country selected to play in Friday night’s Boost Mobile Elite 24 Game at the historic Rucker Park in Harlem, New York.

Of all the invitation-only events that take place throughout the country during the summer months, perhaps none does a better job of attracting all of the nation’s top prospects than the Boost Mobile Elite 24 Game.

Because the game is not sponsored by one of the major shoe companies, it has the rare ability to attract players from teams regardless of their sponsorship affiliation.  This year’s participants include: Lance Stephenson; Brandon Knight; Trae Golden; Dominic Cheek; Maalik Wayns; Tony Wroten Jr.; Dexter Strickland; Kenny Boynton; Abdul Gaddy; Derrick Favors; Jeremy Tyler; Doron Lamb; Nolan Dennis; John Wall; Jared Sullinger; LaQuinton Ross; Karron Johnson; Durand Scott; Jordan Hamilton; Tristan Thompson; Ryan Kelly; Josh Smith; and from New England Dion Waiters (2009) and Rhode Island native Erik Murphy (2009).

The game, which will tip Friday night at 8pm, will be televised live on ESPNU.  The game will re-air on ESPN2 on Monday, August 25th beginning at midnight.  The two squads will be coached by NBA products Chauncey Billups and New York playground legend Kenny Anderson.
