Yesterday we told you that thanks to his very strong summer, Alex Berthiaume now had to choose between a full scholarship for this September and a chance to attract even more recruiting attention with a year of prep school. A day later, Berthiaume has made his choice.
Alex Berthiaume is headed to St. Michael’s. He has accepted a full scholarship offer from head coach Tom O’Shea and will begin school next month.
“I’m pumped,” Berthiaume told the New England Recruiting Report. “This is what I have always hoped for.”
While the decision to pass on the opportunity to do a post-graduate year at MCI was a hard one, ultimately St. Mike’s just had too much to offer.
“It really just seems like it will be a perfect fit,” Berthiaume said. “It is a full scholarship, I have a very good relationship with Coach O’Shea, and I’m going to have a chance to come in and play major minutes in my freshman season.”
