Lewis Makes Pick

New England Recruiting Report
Northwest Catholic senior heading to Colonial Athletic Association.
The road has been a long and windy one for Zach Lewis, but on Wednesday his journey finally came to an end with a commitment to Hofstra.
Lewis began his senior season at Northwest Catholic High School with some limited division I interest but he quickly emerged as one of the hottest available prospects left available in New England, picking up at least three division I scholarship offers.
Things came to a screeching halt in early February when Lewis was dismissed from the team for what the school called a “private matter”.
Lewis returned to the court early this month for the beginning of the grassroots season and showed extremely well for his New York Lightning squad.
Less than two weeks later after Lewis again proved himself to be one of the best available seniors left on the board, his recruitment has come to an appropriate end, as Hofstra was not only one of the first division I schools to pay him serious interest but also one which stuck with him through the struggles of recent months.
Lewis is a long six-foot-three swingman with a smooth scoring game. He’ll bring a consistent shooting presence from behind the three-point line along with a solid mid-range game and playmaking potential in the open floor.
A young senior, he’ll need to add muscle to his frame, but given another year or two to mature physically and he has the upside to develop into a consistent offensive weapon in one of the country’s most competitive mid-major leagues.
