Top Five Maine Sophomores Announced

New England Recruiting Report
Cimino and Beal headline rankings in Maine’s class of 2013.
Next up as we continue to update our sophomore class rankings is the state of Maine where there is a two-man race for top billing in 2013.
Garet Beal would be our choice for the best current sophomore as he has gotten bigger and stronger while adding a low post game to his arsenal but still maintaining his perimeter skill set.
Then you have Matt Cimino. The Cheverus big man made a name for himself last spring and continues to show flashes of his long term potential without yet being able to turn it into consistent production.
As a skilled six-foot-nine face-up four-man with smooth shooting range out to the three-point line, Cimino still gets the nod, but by a rapidly declining margin as this is a race that is sure to continue for the next two years.
Checking in at the third spot is South Portland point guard Tanner Hyland. The younger brother of sharp-shooter Keegan Hyland, Tanner has a much different game that allows him to run a team and make good decisions with the ball as the best pure point guard in the class.
York big man Aaron Todd debuts on the list in the fourth spot as an intriguing young big man while fifth ranked Mitch Worcester has showed well this spring to make his first appearance on the state rankings as well.
