B.C. Gets Third Commitment

New England Recruiting Report

Boston College gets a good one with their third commitment in the class of 2010.

Papa Ndao Samba, a six-foot-nine forward from Montverde Academy in Florida, committed to Boston College on Wednesday joining New Hampton point guard Brady Heslip and power forward Kevin Noreen in the Eagles’ class.

Standing six-feet-nine inches tall, Samba already possesses a tremendous combination of size and skill, but his best basketball is likely still ahead of him as he continues to fill out his frame and get stronger.

Samba has been a two year captain at Montverde while starring for head coach Kevin Sutton, one of the most respected high school coaches in the country.

ESPNU rates Samba as the top product in BC’s incoming class and a major addition for the ACC program.

"This is a great pick up for Coach (Al) Skinner and his staff. Papa's size will give teams fits on the perimeter and he can also put the ball on the floor and get to the rim,” said ESPN’s Reggie Rankin.  “He's good fit for the flex offense BC runs because of his scoring ability."

Samba is a native of Senegal who ran with the Dallas Heroes on the summer circuit.
