Dean En Route to Hamilton

New England Recruiting Report

Franklin High School’s Matt Dean is heading to Hamilton College next year.

Franklin High School’s Matt Dean recently made a commitment to attend Hamilton College next year and play basketball.

Hamilton College is a top academic school whose basketball team has been a dominant power in the Liberty League, advancing to the conference finals in each of the last six seasons under head coach Tobin Anderson.

Despite being located in New York, Hamilton has made recruiting New England a priority, and has landed a number of talented prospects from our region.  This year freshman Eric Benvenuti (Concord Academy, MA) will join sophomores Ephraim McDowell (Beaver Country Day, MA) & Russ Rosenband (Greenwich HS, CT) and juniors Joe Ciriello (Sacred Heart HS, CT) & Gabe Rosen (Beaver Country Day, MA).

Franklin is a powerful guard with a great feel for the game.  He’s able to play a variety of different positions, makes great decisions with the ball in his hands, is a very good passer, strong defender, and capable standstill shooter.

Dean’s commitment is presumably contingent on his admission into the school via early decision.
