Seton Hall gets second NEPSAC commitment of the fall and first of 2011.
Dashun Wiggins committed to Seton Hall this weekend as first reported by SNY’s Adam Zagoria.
Wiggins had a pre-existing relationship with Pirates assistant coach Dermon Player that dated back to when he was 11 years old and committed to Seton Hall while back home in New York for the weekend.
The six-foot-three power guard came to Bridgton from Wings Academy in New York where he averaged 19.4 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.
Sources indicate that Wiggins’ commitment is for 2011, meaning that Wiggins could potentially be a two year kid in the prep ranks.
While his recruitment may officially be over, the New York native still has an opportunity in front of him as he will have plenty of chances to prove his worth for Bridgton this season.
“He is an aggressive, skilled, scoring guard, able to play a couple of positions, and in a situation to prove his mettle,” said Bridgton head coach Whit Lesure. “He will be counted on to score, distribute, guard, and rebound for the Wolverines.”
Wiggins commitment is Seton Hall’s first for the class of 2011 and second New England pledge so far this fall joining South Kent’s Jesse Morgan. Fuquan Edwin of Patterson Catholic in New Jersey has also committed to the Pirates for 2010.
